Seasons of Change

Seasons come and go and we often forget to stop and notice the changes. We take for granted that the season will change and when it is changing from the cold of winter we often can not wait for it to hurry up and be summer. The other day the boys and I went for a walk in Lincoln Woods her in Rhode Island. It was a stunning morning brisk with sun streaming through the trees to warm us as we adventured our way through the park. It was while doing this I realized that we take change for granted, we fear change; yet we look for change to help us define who we are and what we want. We loose sight of the fact that we are in charge of change, we can use it to become more, to become authentic. As we wandered through the woods we saw the beauty of change close up in the leaves and the air. We all enjoyed the moment that we were witness to this change. The boys have a gift they give to any one around them daily and that is the simplicity of wonder. Everything is new. They basque in the initial meeting of something or someone new. I have to say for most things and people first impressions are everything and their joy is typically the first impression. I figure if the boys can enjoy the changes as they come why can't I. So, no matter what may come to our family this fall I promise you, I promise us, that we will fill our time with wonder, joy and love. What a way to take on change.
